To further implement the innovation-driven development strategy and establish a platform for high-level talent matching and industry–university–research collaborative innovation, on August 4, the “2026 Hundred PhDs Visit Anhui” delegation of young experts and scholars paid a field visit to Anhui Guruite New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. for on-site inspections and technology‑transfer exchanges. The company’s General Manager, Xu Yumei, and Head of the Technology Center, Wang Lei, accompanied the delegation, and both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues such as tackling core technologies in new materials, translating research findings into practical applications, and jointly cultivating high‑caliber talent.

For many years, Anhui Guruite has steadfastly positioned technological innovation as the core engine of its corporate development, continuously investing in the recruitment and cultivation of top-tier talent and the establishment of high‑standard research platforms. In 2024, the company was recognized by the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security as an “Outstanding Postdoctoral Research Station of Anhui Province,” becoming a vital platform for attracting young research leaders and breaking through critical material‑technology bottlenecks in the industry. This on‑site visit by a team of young doctoral researchers not only served to verify the company’s R&D capabilities but also forged a crucial bridge for long‑term university–enterprise collaboration in science, technology, and innovation.

During the on-site visit, the expert delegation toured the company’s brand showroom and its core R&D laboratories, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company’s evolution, industrial footprint, and innovative development philosophy. The experts focused on flagship products—including recycled carbon black, lightweight carbon black, carbon–silicon enhancers, film release agents, and adhesives—probing in detail into their key performance characteristics, green production processes, and downstream application prospects in the tire and rubber industries. The expert team highly commended the company’s strategic commitment to the niche market of advanced rubber materials and its roadmap for developing circular, low‑carbon materials, while also expressing strong appreciation for its achievements in green industrialization.

During the panel discussion, both sides convened focused sessions to address pressing industry challenges, including the iterative advancement of new tire materials, the optimization of rubber‑processing technologies, and the large‑scale industrial implementation of recycled carbon black. Participating young doctoral researchers, drawing on cutting‑edge university research, shared forward‑looking insights and raised specialized questions on topics such as material‑property enhancement, innovative R&D roadmaps, and the commercialization of laboratory findings. In turn, Xu Yumei and Wang Lei leveraged their hands‑on experience from scaled‑up production and market‑driven application needs to provide targeted answers, sharing proven technical solutions and practical market‑application expertise accumulated throughout the industrialization process. The entire exchange was candid, in‑depth, and highly interactive, effectively bridging the gap between academic theory and industrial practice, fostering two‑way collaboration among academia, industry, and research, and laying a solid foundation for joint project development and collaborative talent cultivation.

This “100 PhDs Visit Anhui” initiative has successfully established a robust bridge between the high‑quality research resources of universities and the industrial needs of local new‑materials enterprises. Leveraging the advantages of its provincial-level outstanding postdoctoral research workstation, Anhui Guruite will continue to expand channels for attracting and jointly cultivating top‑tier talent, systematically advance industry–university–research collaborative innovation, and concentrate its efforts on tackling key core technologies in rubber‑based new materials. By continuously strengthening its core competitive edge and its role as an industry benchmark, the company aims to drive technological innovation through talent, thereby contributing to the quality enhancement and upgrading of the region’s green, circular new‑materials sector.
